How to Export Scan Summaries in Ad-Aware

Lavasoft's Ad-Aware is a spyware removal utility that provides you with a variety of useful features. For example, if you'd like keep track of the junk Ad-Aware finds on your computer, you can export your scan summaries and save them for later viewing. This allows you to watch spyware trends as they evolve and safeguard your system against particular threats.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Launch Ad-Aware by double-clicking its desktop icon. If there isn't an Ad-Aware icon on the desktop, look in its "Programs" folder in the Start Menu.
Step2
Select the "Scan" tab from the menu on the left side of the Ad-Aware main screen. You'll see sublinks beneath this tab, but you don't need to click them to conduct one of the basic scans.
Step3
Choose what level scan you want Ad-Aware to perform. Unless your computer's experiencing major slowdowns and glitches, go with the "Smart Scan". It's quick and relatively thorough.
Step4
Start the system check by clicking "Scan."
Step5
Wait for Ad-Aware to finish scanning your computer. The Smart Scan usually finishes in a few minutes, but the Full Scan can take half an hour or more.
Step6
Navigate through the "Critical Objects" and "Privacy Objects" tabs and check the boxes next to the items you want to delete. Click "Remove" and then "Finish."
Step7
Press the "Export" button to generate a scan report and save it to your hard drive.
