All cats need healthy food to obtain the proper balance of vitamins and minerals, and to keep their coats sleek and shiny. However, it won't hurt your kitty to have an occasional special treat. When she tastes it, she'll purr with pleasure.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Strained baby food, ham flavor
  • Non-fat powdered milk
  • Wheat germ
  • Egg
  • Ham lunch meat
  • Canned tuna
  • Cooked chicken

Ham it Up Cat Treats

Step1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Oil a cookie sheet lightly or spray it with non-fat cooking spray.
Step2
Combine the baby food, powdered milk, wheat germ and the beaten egg in a medium mixing bowl.
Step3
Drop the mixture by small spoonfuls on the prepared baking sheet.
Step4
Bake the ham it up treats for 12 to 15 minutes.
Step5
Remove the ham it up treats from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack.
Step6
Place the treats in a zip-seal bag or a sealed container and store them in the freezer or refrigerator.

Ham it Up With Tuna

Step1
Open the canned tuna and drain the juice into a bowl. Set it aside.
Step2
Use a spoon to flatten and spread the tuna over a plate.
Step3
Cut the chicken into small pieces and put the pieces of chicken on top of the tuna.
Step4
Cut the slices of turkey lunch meat into halves and put two halves on each side of the plate.
Step5
Drizzle the reserved tuna juice over the plate and serve the ham treat to your cat.

Tips & Warnings

  • Check the baby food jar to be sure it doesn't contain any onion, which can be toxic to cats.
