How to Join Whyville

Whyville is an online community for children from eight on up. Learn science and math while playing the games located here. Visiting interesting places and shopping are some of the other activities you will find in Whyville. Join Whyville community, create your own character face and take part in a unique community for kids of all ages.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

1. Point your browser to Whyville.net. You will see the registration form on this page.
2. Fill out the Whyville registration form to join this community. You must provide your age and tell them if you are a boy or girl.
3. Choose the user name for the Whyville community. You will not be able to change this once you join, so think carefully and choose the name you like.
4. Create a name you especially like or maybe even one you use in your imagination. You do not have to use any part of your real name. If you have a favorite cartoon character or actor or actress feel free to use that name.
5. Select a password. This should be a word or phrase you will remember but one that is not easily guessed by someone else. You can change this later.
6. Provide the optional information such as your email address only if you choose. You do have to read the privacy statement, site policies and user agreement.
7. Check the box next to where it asks you to read the policies to signify that you have read them. Then click on the button at the bottom of the screen that says, "sign me up."

Tips & Warnings

• If you are an underage child you may still sign up and join Whyville but make sure your parents read the policies and approve.
• Never provide your real information, such as address or phone number to someone you meet through Whyville.
