How to Find Yoshi in Super Mario 64

Super Mario 64 was the first Mario game to really break out of the 2-D platform model. It has a full range of depth and dimension and many secrets hidden within. As the first game of its type, there are several homages to the history of the series and its wide range of characters. Yoshi, a favorite from older games, makes a secret appearance as well.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Instructions

1. Find all the stars in the game. There are 120 stars to collect and you need every one of them to get to Yoshi.

2. Go out to the courtyard and look for a new cannon. The cannon mark is there from the beginning of the game, but it isn’t until you get all 120 stars that it will open up.

3. Aim the cannon at the top of the castle and shoot yourself to the top. You should aim for the middle of the roof.

4. Talk to Yoshi and he will give you up to 100 1-Ups for finding him. There is also a flight cap up here so you can fly around the castle and enjoy the view and freedom.
