Things You’ll Need:
- Raw egg
- 32 ounce or larger plastic jar with screw on lid
- Salt
- Water
- Raw egg
- Old nylon stocking
- Stapler and staples
- Shoe box
- Duct tape
- Scissors
- Raw egg
- 2 balloons
- Large box
- Styrofoam peanuts
- Duct tape
Experiment With the Jar Method
Step1
Fill jar half way full of water.
Step2
Add 1/8 cup salt and mix until dissolved. The salt will make the egg float.
Step3
Put egg in the jar and fill the jar to the top with water.
Step4
Screw the top back on the jar and the egg is now ready for the drop.
Try the Nylon Method
Step1
Cut the nylon stocking two inches shorter than the length of the box.
Step2
Tie a knot four inches from bottom of nylon. Insert egg into nylon and tie another knot four inches from the other end of the nylon.
Step3
Securely center and staple one end of nylon to end of box. Stretch nylon and staple to other side.
Step4
Tape lid on box. The egg is suspended and will survive the fall.
Learn About the Balloon and Styrofoam Peanut Method
Step1
Insert one balloon inside of other balloon while they are still deflated. Carefully insert egg into inner balloon.
Step2
Blow up inner balloon to half capacity and tie off. Inflate outer balloon to full capacity and tie off. The result should be an egg inside a balloon that is inside a balloon.
Step3
Fill lower half of cardboard box with foam peanuts. Place balloon in center of peanuts and fill rest of box with peanuts.
