Things You'll Need:
- Basket
- Velvet or felt
- Old or broken jewelry pieces
- Hot glue and gun
-
Step 1
Find a medium size pre-made basket. Purchase an odd number of baskets for a set. Search for different shapes or colored baskets.
-
Step 2
Clean out your jewelry box. Take individual stones, pearls or beads and glue in a random pattern onto the basket. Use broken sentimental beaded necklaces, broaches or other decorative jewelry pieces you've been saving, too.
-
Step 3
String the beaded necklaces around the outside of the basket at the top or bottom as an accent. Use hot glue to secure the strands in place. Adhere additional gems, sparingly to avoid a garish look.
-
Step 4
Glue other decorative beads, broaches, pins and pieces around the outside of the basket to add texture. Add velvet or felt to line the inside and bottom of the basket.
-
Step 5
Wrap a strand or two around the handle of the basket and secure them in place with glue. Line the handle with ribbon and add a few trinkets in measured intervals for a modest style.
-
Step 6
Use the basket to store your own jewelry. Hang necklaces and bracelets from the handle and put rings, earrings or other items in the basket.
-
Step 7
Give the basket as a present. Fill it with jewelry or other items and give it as a birthday, Christmas or Easter basket.
