Closing your golf stance will give you the ability to put more spin on the ball and get better overall shots. It can be difficult if you do not practice the stance with a normal swing. When done correctly, it will dramatically improve your golf game.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Align yourself with your target in the way that you normally do. This is the most important part of adjusting your stance.

  2. Step 2

Allow the proper spacing. Place the ball approximately two feet in front of you and situated between your feet which should be shoulder width apart.

  3. Step 3

Open your stance. Your feet and the placement of the ball will make a "V" shape. Do not over exaggerate your stance, just open it up in way that is comfortable for you.

  4. Step 4

Close your stance slightly. The alignment should still be a "V" shape but the legs are closer together at this point. You should place your feet a little closer than shoulder width apart. Depending on the golfer's height, this stance may have to be adjusted for comfort.

  5. Step 5

Swing properly. Your swing should not change at all. The only thing that changes is your stance. If you change your stance and swing at the same time, your game will suffer dramatically.

  6. Step 6

Practice your swing with this new stance until you are comfortable enough with it to use on a regular basis. You will soon see the positive difference in your score.
