Have you come across a box of old baseball cards and don’t know what to do with them? You’re in luck, because your fun is just beginning. Whether you want to sell the cards or keep them, organizing a collection and finding out how much it’s worth can be a lot of fun.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Purchase a baseball card price guide so you can look up the values of your cards. Price guides can be found at any bookstore or baseball card shop.

  2. Step 2

Handle the cards carefully when you take them out of the packaging. Hold them lightly by the edges with your fingertips to keep from damaging the corners or face in any way.

  3. Step 3

Place the cards in protective sleeves or pages so you can view and handle them more easily while keeping them in mint condition.

  4. Step 4

Organize your cards so they are in a logical order, whether by team, year and make of the card, or by player name. You’ll want to be able to look through them and find certain cards easily.

  5. Step 5

Determine if you want to keep all of your cards or if you want to try to sell some of them. If you want to sell some of your cards, try listing them on eBay or selling them to a baseball card store.

  6. Step 6

Put the cards in a safe place and keep them for several years, as they will probably go up in value over time.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don’t ever throw away baseball cards. There will always be someone who wants them.
