How to Install Harry Potter 4 on Windows Vista

The "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" PC Game is the fourth in the series based on the best-selling books. For most computer systems, installing this game is a breeze. However, some people may experience a problem with installing it correctly. If you are having such problems, read on to find out how to fix it.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • PC running Windows Vista or XP
  • The "Harry Potter" PC Game CD-ROM
  • Flash Drive or other portable memory device

Step1
Insert the CD-ROM into the disc, and install the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire PC game onto a hard drive.
Step2
Click on your "Start" button at the bottom left-hand corner of your screen. Click on your "C:" drive and then on "Program Files"
Step3
Navigate to the folder named "Electronic Arts." Copy and paste the folder labeled "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" to your Flash Drive (or other portable memory device).
Step4
Plug the memory stick into your own PC. Copy the same "Harry Potter" folder. Navigate to the "Electronic Arts" folder in your "Program Files."
Step5
Open the folder and Right-click on the "gof_f.exe" file and then click on "Run as Administrator."
Step6
Right-click once again. Click on "Properties" and choose the Compatibility tab. Put a check mark in the first box. Scroll over the "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" option.
Step7
Re-boot your computer. You should now be able to play the game with no problems.
