How to Draw a Made Up Keyblade
Drawing keys seems like an easy skill to master, but there are a few fundamentals you want to make sure you include. If you want to make up your own design for the key blade, it can be tricky to balance your creative elements with the necessities for making a key look realistic and recognizable.

1
Draw a circle or other shape for the handle of the key. If you want to get fancy, you can make a more clover-shaped handle for an antique look, or you can draw another geometric shape like a hexagon for a more modern-looking key.
-
2
Draw a line coming out from the base, slightly above the center of one side. This line is the top of the key blade, and should simply be a straight line. If you're drawing a modern key, the line can bend at a diagonal at the very tip, but otherwise should be straight.

3
Draw a second line below the first line. This is the bottom edge of the key blade, where the variations will be. This line is your chance to exercise some creativity in making up your own key blade.
-
4
Combine small and large peaks and jagged edges to create the key blade. For the simplest modern blade, just draw a uniform zigzag line and it will still be recognizable as a key. For a simple antique look, make the whole blade straight with a large rectangle (or one large rectangle and a small rectangle) extending down from the shaft to form the key blade.

5
Add detail to the key handle, including cut outs. For example, if you drew a circle for the handle, draw a smaller circle inside of the first to create the handle. You can also add chains, ribbons or other decorations to the handle of your made up key blade.
