You’re only in middle school, but you already love being a leader and helping the others in your school. But you may be wondering if there’s a way to win the election for student council president.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Make sure you’re a good candidate to be a student council president. It may be more work than you think. You’ll have to attend student council meetings and plan many events. You should also be a social person who enjoys helping others.
Step2
Talk to a teacher at your school about the student council requirements. Most schools have requirements you’ll have to meet before you can even run. Your teacher can let you know if you meet those requirements.
Step3
Speak to your parents. Make sure they’ll be willing to help you get to meetings and can help you with various events if needed.
Step4
Come up with a platform your fellow students can get behind. Popular choices are getting better sporting equipment or new computers or changing the cafeteria menu.
Step5
Enlist your friends to help you create posters, banners and signs you can hang all over the school. Your parents will probably help too, especially since posters, banners and signs cost money.
Step6
Write a great speech. Have your friends and a teacher you like help you. Read good speeches written by famous people and listen to various speeches. Note what works and what doesn’t.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be cool with other candidates. Don’t trash them or rip down their posters. Most likely, this will backfire on you.
