Step 1
Branch out from acting like Milla Jovovich by first establishing yourself in the modeling world. Jovovich started modeling when she was 11 years old and within a very short time she was posing for famous photographers such as Richard Avedon and appearing in national advertising campaigns. This experience gave Jovovich the confidence and exposure to explore other artistic mediums, which led to her acting career.

Step 2
Use your status as a bankable movie star to form your own film production company, which will help you to branch out from acting by producing and developing scripts. After the financial success of the "Resident Evil" film franchise, Milla Jovovich started her own production company, Creature Entertainment, in 2004. This gave her power and creative control over her acting career and allowed her to manage her own professional image more effectively.

Step 3
Develop your own clothing line. Jovovich used her experience as a model to establish contacts and start her own line of clothing with a fellow model, Carmen Hawk. The Jovovich-Hawk line of clothing is now available in such upscale stores as Fred Segal and Harvey Nichols.

Step 4
Use your reputation as an international film start to branch out from acting and begin a musical career. Jovovich released an album, "The Divine Comedy," in 2004, which she had to fight to release because it was based on her Slavic background and was not a commercial, pop-oriented release. Because of her influence as a film star, she was able to release the album as intended and it was praised by the critics for its originality.

Step 5
Become politically active. Jovovich is particularly outspoken on the subject of legalizing marijuana and has appeared on the cover of "High Times" magazine.
