How to Get Kate Moss's Style

One of the world's most famous supermodels, Kate Moss has a style not typically seen on the runways. Her style runs from artsy to bohemian, biker chick and back--all in a single outfit. Unlike other Hollywood stars, Moss's style is truly her own.

• Flats
• Leather jacket
• Vintage clothes
• Benefit's Bad Gal liner
• Mascara
• Sweater dress
• Skinny jeans

1. Put on some makeup. Kate is rarely seen in public without a little eye shadow. You can create her famous smoky eye look with Benefit's Bad Gal eye pencil. Line your entire eye with the pencil. Don't forget to wear mascara, too.
2. Visit a variety of stores to put together the perfect look. Moss's look includes modern clothes mixed with thrift store vintage pieces. If you don't have a lot of money to spend on your Kate Moss look, spend a few bucks on a leather jacket and use the rest to buy vintage threads. Get an idea of Kate's look by visiting the Style website (see Resources below).
3. Wear layers. Kate likes to tuck her jeans into her boots. She is often found wearing skirts or dresses over pants, with layers of jewelry. This look can be a little much on someone with a different body type, however, so use your judgment when adding more to your outfit.
4. Shake it up and wear something a little more preppy. Every once in a while, Kate likes to put on something different than her normal thrown-together outfit. For example, she has stepped out in a cashmere Juicy Couture sweater dress with black leggings. The combination was both warm and stylish.
5. Pick out the perfect formal dress. Kate's dresses have run the gamut from long and flowing to short and sweet. Choose a dress in her signature neutral colors that suits your body type.
6. Get some pieces from Kate Moss's line for Topshop (see Resources below). The collection includes many of Kate's favorite clothes, including skinny jeans and one-shoulder minidresses.

Tips & Warnings

• Kate's skin tone looks best with earth tones and washed out colors. She also likes to mix textures of fabrics. If you don't look good in combinations like these, try developing a palette of colors in the same tone and buy most of your garments based on those choices.
• Don't wear heels. After years of teetering in them during photo shoots, Kate seems to prefer flats.
