How to Hire FlyPets.com to Ship a Pet

Flypets.com is an airline devoted to transporting pets. If you are traveling on an airline that isn't pet friendly, you can hire Flypets.com to bring your pet to you at your destination.

Instructions

    • 1

Get a flight estimate by filling out their online form. Once you have submitted the form, Flypets will get back to you within a few business days to give you an approximate estimate on how much it will cost to ship your pet.

    • 2

Create a shipping account with Flypets. You can do this online. Flypets will only ship your pet if you have had an account on file with them for at least 7 days before making reservations to ship your pet. To create an account, you'll need your bank information, veterinarian information and a business reference. You'll also need to pay a $25 application fee online.

Call Flypets to make shipping arrangements for your pet. You will discuss the airport you will use and the exact service you want. Flypets can either bring your pet to you from the airport or house the pet for you for a few days until you arrive to pick him up. Flypets can be reached at 816-471-3852. You can also book reservations online.

    • 4

Make sure you arrange for shipping of your pet at least three days before you plan to leave on your trip. This is a requirement when you hire Flypets to ship your pet.

    • 5

Comply with Flypets regulations when you hire the company. The company mandates that all animals have shipping crates that are large enough for them to stand up and turn around in, and must also have secure food and water bowls in their crates at all times. Crates must be labeled with the contact information of the owners, as well as the last time the pets were fed and given water. A current health certificate must also accompany your pet.

Tips & Warnings

  • Send a few familiar items along with your pet when you hire Flypets.com to ship him to your destination. A favored toy or two, a beloved blanket and a handful of treats will all keep your pet comforted and calm while in unfamiliar surroundings on the flight. Some experts even suggest you include a used pair of underwear, so your pet will be surrounded by your smell.
