The arm wave hip hop dance move requires flexibility in your arms, shoulders and your hands. Being able to move your body effortlessly and wave to the music's beat is the key to the dance looking smooth. It is a very popular dance move with street dancers and a hit at parties and on school campuses.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Stretch out your arms completely on both sides. Extend your hands in a flexed position with your fingers pointing upwards.

  2. Step 2

Roll your hand in a downward motion with your fingers leading towards a downward position. Keep your shoulders and upper arm intact without moving it.

  3. Step 3

Bend your arm slightly at the elbow and roll your shoulder inwards toward your chest. Push your chest outward and roll your body towards the opposite shoulder.

  4. Step 4

Move your shoulder on the opposite side towards a rolling motion and push the roll out towards your elbow. The opposite arm should still be extended but not moving. When this is done faster to the beat of the music, it creates a wave effect.

  5. Step 5

Flex your elbow and roll your hand down with your fingers pointing again to an upwards position as you wave your hand outwards.
