Paint your finger nails in polish and you'll add style to your look. Acrylic nails can help this paint last event longer. Whether you choose to do an all-over polish or want to get a French manicure, you may end up with uneven edges and lines. Follow these steps to straighten the polish on your acrylic nails.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Small bristled brush
  • Small glass jar
  • Acetone
  1. Step 1

Put some acetone into a small glass container. Acetone can melt many plastics, so glass is best.

  2. Step 2

Dip your brush lightly into the acetone. The brush should be slightly damp but not dripping.

  3. Step 3

Move the brush from side to side along the curve of your nail to remove unwanted paint. Continue this process on every nail until they all have a clean look.

  4. Step 4

Straighten out the paint on all edges close to your skin. When correcting a French manicure leave a curve along the natural white curve of the nail instead of a straight line which can also make the nail appear longer.

Tips & Warnings
  • For a French manicure leave the white paint on the tip of your nail in a relatively thin line.
  • Be careful of the bottom edge of your acrylic nail, polish that falls in the space between your natural and the acrylic nail can look messy.
  • Acetone can melt plastic, so do not place in a plastic container.
