Are you living with unexplained or ghostly occurrences in your home? Do you feel the presence of something unknown or unfamiliar? If you feel like you have paranormal happenings that disrupt your life or threaten your family, getting answers and relief is important. Finding a paranormal investigator in your area may be the way to go to discover what is happening in your home and to help you put roaming spirits to rest.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer with Internet access
Step1
Be aware that if you are in the Dallas, Washington D.C., Seattle or New Orleans area the Society for Paranormal Investigations may be the place for you to start (find their website in Resources section below) and learn about their mission and investigative style. They also do phone consultations and are sometimes willing to travel a bit farther.
Step2
Know that nearly every state in the union has at least one paranormal investigation team and About.com has a comprehensive listing (see Resources, below). Contact the groups listed and see if they can help you with your ghostly problems.
Step3
Give an amateur a try. Check out your local college campus. With the increase in paranormal interest, many college campuses are sponsoring paranormal clubs that would be excited to look into your spooky problems.
Step4
Try Myspace.com. Type in "paranormal investigator" in the search area and you will be surprised how many groups or individuals you can find to help you.
Step5
Contact your nearby Catholic church. Although they don't often talk too much about it, it's not uncommon for you to be able to get a priest to come and bless your home and help put your environment in a more peaceful place.

Tips & Warnings

  • Get evidence yourself and look into the history of your home and land. Knowing who you may be dealing with can really help the "ghost busting" procedure.
  • Be careful who you invite into your home. Most paranormal investigators work for free, but be sure to get referrals and recommendations before you have strangers in your home.
