Liquify is probably the most popular Photoshop tool, but did you know that you can create a similar effect in Adobe Illustrator? Illustrator's warp tool lets you bend paths around to create amazing distortions and styles. This guide will get you started experimenting with the warp tool.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Open Illustrator document
  1. Step 1

Make a few filled and stroked shapes on your document for practice. Use the rectangle tool or one of the other shape tools.

  2. Step 2

Select your shape(s) with the black arrow tool.

  3. Step 3

Select the warp tool, which looks like a finger pushing on something. The warp tool shares space with other cool tools such as twirl, bloat and cystallize, and might be temporarily hiding under one of those other tools.

  4. Step 4

Use the warp tool to bend the paths and points around. Click on your selected object, and drag the cursor.
