Most people experience zits or pimples during their teenage years and sometimes into their 20s. Acne is usually caused by hormonal changes but can also be aggravated by poor diet or hygiene. The most common place for zits to develop is on the face, but they might also break out on your chest, back, shoulders and arms. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Eat a healthy diet and wash your face several times a day to reduce the number of pimples that you get. Understand that even if you eat right and keep your face and body clean you still sometimes get acne. Acne is not necessarily a reflection of your personal care; it is often a normal response to hormonal changes your body is going through.
-
2
Develop a balanced life style that includes exercise to improve your overall feelings about yourself. The more confidence you have in your appearance the less distressing the appearance of a zit is.

3
Keep the area around the acne clean to help it to clear up faster and prevent the spreading of germs deeper into the skin, which delays the healing. Use a clean washcloth, hot water and a mild soap. Pat the area when washing instead of rubbing and scrubbing. Rinse all of the soap off of your face after washing so you do not clog the pores.
-
4
Use Visine to take the red out from the area around the zit. Saturate a cotton ball with Visine and pat the area gently. Do not put the Visine directly onto the zit, but only on the redness surrounding it.
-
5
Purchase an acne concealer and apply it to the pimples before leaving the house in the morning so they are not as noticeable. Look for a concealer that says it also speeds healing. It is alright to apply make up over top of the concealer. Be sure to wash all of the concealer and make up off at night so your pores are not clogged and more zits don't develop.

6
Wait for the zit to clear up and go away. Most acne clears itself within a week.

Tips & Warnings
Avoid popping or picking at pimples. Doing so can cause the germs to go deeper into the skin, making them take longer to go away. Popping and picking zits can also lead to permanent scarring.
