Origami paper claws are not only fun to wear; they are also fun to make as well. Create your own "freddy fingers" or monster hands for the perfect Halloween costume with a few pieces of paper and some well-placed folds.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 10 sheets of A4 paper.
  1. Step 1

Take a sheet of paper and lay it flat on the table. Pull the top right hand corner down three inches from the bottom and crease the edge in a straight line, parallel to the bottom of the page. Do the same to the left side so that your paper looks like a small sail with a gap at the bottom.

  2. Step 2

Fold over both the bottom corners inwards so that they line up to the original folds that you made. The paper now has two large folds at the top and two smaller ones underneath. Next, take the "flap" made of your bottom folds and crease this over at the line so your paper makes a triangle.

  3. Step 3

Turn over the triangle and fold the right hand corner down again, this time two inches below the bottom line. Fold the left hand corner in to match. The top of the paper will make a sharp triangle almost like a point that will act as the spike of your claw.

  4. Step 4

Insert the left hand piece into the flap at the middle of the paper to create a pouch, wide enough to put your finger or thumb. Ensure that the flap won't come loose if you are using thin paper and stick it down with tape if you need to secure it more.

  5. Step 5

Repeat the process another nine times to make two full claw hands or as many times as you like. Leave your thumbs free of the claws to use your hands more easily or cover your entire hands for maximum effect. Use different colored paper to coordinate with your outfit and draw on fingernails or spikes with colored pens.
