How to Get a Shy Guy

Life would be perfect if every shy guy came out of his shell long enough to ask you out. Shyness does not necessarily come from low self-esteem, but that can be a contributing factor. If you have your eye on a shy guy and want to know how to get him to go out with you, there are a few things you need to consider.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Approach him. Sometimes the nerves are too much for a shy guy to handle, and he will just refuse to approach a girl he likes. Get a shy guy by starting conversations with him.

  2. Step 2

Give him signals that you are interested in him. Laugh at his jokes, touch his arm and talk about the things you like to do. Give him plenty of chances to jump in and ask you to go do some of the things the two of you talk about.

  3. Step 3

Find out what his interests are. When you want to get a shy guy, you have to give him a chance to open up to you on topics that he enjoys. Ask around to find out things about him, and use them as the next topic of conversation.

  4. Step 4

Ask him out. If you have given a shy guy all the right signals and he still won't ask you out, make the first move. Make him an offer he can't refuse to get him to go out with you. If he is an action flick lover, ask him to go see the latest blockbuster with you on opening night. Or, if he is into a certain band, buy tickets to an upcoming show and offer him your extra.

  5. Step 5

Be honest with him. If you have hung out with a shy guy for awhile, and you have formed a friendship, open up and let him know how you feel. He may be too shy to act on his own feelings until he has a confirmation from you that you feel the same way.

  6. Step 6

Remain low-key when you are with your shy guy. Until you know how he is around his close friends, don't be too boisterous or loud. You may scare him away before you get him to notice your shy side.

on 9/14/2009 I met this guy at the race track and we barely spoke, but I was kind of drawn to him. My friend accidentaly made him feel embarrassed in front of me, AND I'm a loud outgoing person. I definately do not know how to approach him without making him feel uncomfortable. Do I ask him to dance? Any ideas?

on 1/17/2009 If a shy guy does the following he definately have a crush on you:

1. Looks at you when you are not looking (looks away when you look at him)

2. Doesn't talk to you when with your friends

3. When trying to initiate converstaion, asks dead end questions -

e.g "Did you do your homework?" instead of "How did you get on with your homework?"

4. Ignores you -

This is the most misinterpereted. If he completely ignores you in a public setting he likes you.
If he converses with you and politly excuses himself in a hurry with no real reason he doesn't like you.

5. If he puts you on the spot when conversing with his friends he likes you.

6. If you flirt with each other via text/ msn etc frequently and you agree to go on a date and he suddenly stops texting/msn'ing he is too shy/scared or broke. He still likes you but will be embaressed from then on.

7. If he fl
