How to Get Away With Doing Nothing in Class

Class can be boring, and there are always a ton of things you can do with your time that would be more intellectually stimulating. With some strict teachers, it may be more challenging, but you can get away with doing nothing in class.

1. Write notes to your friends instead of taking notes on the lecture. This may not seem like a very good ploy, but most professors assume that if you are writing feverishly that you are simply interested in the topic at hand.

2. Keep your textbook open on your desk. Periodically look at the pages to lead your professor to believe you are following along. Keeping this in mind, you can get away with doing nothing in class.

3. Daydream while the professor is talking. Let your dreams fly, and make eye contact with the teacher periodically to lead them to believe you are listening. This is all you have to do to get away with doing nothing in class.

4. Hold your pen in your hand with a note pad open. You need to write some stuff down every once in awhile, such as a doodle or picture, but you can get away with doing nothing in class as long as you look engaged.

5. Swap note taking days with a buddy in class. This way you can take turns paying attention to the lecture. Then you can get away with doing nothing in every other class and still keep your grades up.

6. Get a tutor. If you just can't grasp the concepts your professor talks about, do something else during his lectures and get a tutor who can really teach you. Use class time to make notes for future papers in another class, or write your mom.

7. Pay attention just enough to be able to answer if you are called. Then you can use your time in class to text your friends and plan the next party.
