You can send an important email to someone's BlackBerry and never know if he ever received it. However, you can be notified instantly with delivery confirmation when the message reaches the recipient's inbox. This works when sending from a BlackBerry device to another BlackBerry device or from Outlook to a BlackBerry device.

From Quick Guide: Using a Blackberry
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open a new email with your BlackBerry device or in Outlook.

Select who the email is going to from your contact list or type in a new address.

  3. Step 3

Type in a left arrow, "<", then "confirm", then a right arrow, ">", in the subject line. Verify in the BlackBerry subject line that the word "confirm" is bracketed by the left and right arrows.

  4. Step 4

Enter the subject of your email after the right-facing arrow.
