1
Cover your windows to block the sun. Some people believe that they are safe from the sun's rays as long as they stay indoors. This isn't always the case. Maintain a pale complexion by staying away from windows and keeping them covered when you have them open.
-
2
Take vitamins. There are vitamins out there that can prevent the sun from damaging your skin. Beta carotene, vitamins C and E, selenium, zinc and essential fatty acids contain nutrients that help you regenerate skin cells and antioxidants to maintain a pale complexion.

Stick to the shade between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Even when you are wearing sun block, the sun is at its height of power during these hours and can darken and damage your skin. You should also stay away from the reflection of the sun's light as it bounces off of water, sand and snow.

4
Apply and reapply sun screen throughout the day. An SPF of 15 will only protect for about two and a half hours.
-
5
Wear protective clothing to block the sun and maintain a pale complexion. This can include a large brimmed hat, long sleeves and pants.
-
6
Watch what you eat. Foods containing the amino acids L-phenylalanine, L-tryptophan and L-Tyrosine can help accelerate tanning, and they should be avoided when you want to maintain a pale complexion.
