Many African-American men like to have waves in their hair. There are many different types of waves. Some waves are easy and others are more difficult. Getting 360 waves takes time and patience, because you have to train your hair to form a circular pattern of waves around your entire head.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Cut your hair if necessary before you begin to train your hair to form 360 waves. Make sure that you leave your hair long enough to wave.

  2. Step 2

Gather all of the supplies you will need to work on your 360 waves. The supplies are at a beauty-supply store or mass merchandiser.

  3. Step 3

Apply moisturizer to your hair before brushing. Moisturizer will keep your hair healthy and manageable while you are training it keep 360 waves.

  4. Step 4

Brush your hair in a circular pattern starting from the crown. Use a soft or medium bristle brush to protect your scalp. Make sure that you follow the natural grain of your hair as much as possible. Brush your hair as often as possible.

  5. Step 5

Wear a stocking cap or wave cap when you sleep or do anything that may mess up your hair. This will help your hair learn to stay waved instead of standing up.

  6. Step 6

Continue this routine for three to six weeks to see full results. The 360 waves will be noticeable on the front of your head first. Next are the waves on the back of the head. The waves will connect on the sides last.

  7. Step 7

Allow your hair to grow while you are training it to keep 360 waves. Cutting your hair will destroy the progress that you have made training your hair.
