Step1
Find hiding places that are inconvenient for someone to search. For example, your brother probably won't want to make your bed, so he probably won't mess it up to look for your secret item. Snoops will confine their searches to areas that they can check quickly.
Step2
Store things in and behind books that you're sure no one in your family will want to borrow. Slip items between the pages, hollow out the center of an old book to hold small objects or use one of the covers to hide your diary.
Step3
Secure thin objects under drawers with tape or strips of Velcro. Change the tape often so it won't lose its hold and cause items to fall and jam your drawer.
Step4
Stash your diary and special documents where no one can see them. Create a file for your journal on your computer and scan notes and other paperwork to save on your hard drive. Protect the files with a frequently-changed password.
Step5
Conceal flat items like love notes and tickets behind other things. Pin them behind memorabilia on your corkboard or tape them behind posters or photos hung on your wall.
