If you're looking for a way to shake up your workout routine, then you should add medicine ball exercises. They provide both a cardio and strength workout and add the advantage of working with a partner, which will keep you motivated. Here's how to perform sit-up throw exercises with a medicine ball next time you're at the gym.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Medicine ball
  • Partner to help perform exercise
  1. Step 1

Sit down on the ground with your legs extended in front of you. Your feet should also be together.

  2. Step 2

Instruct your partner to stand a few feet in front of you and hold the medicine ball waist high.

  3. Step 3

Extend your arms and receive the medicine ball as your partner tosses it to you. It is important that you receive the medicine ball out in front of you with your arms extended and not close to your chest. If you catch the ball too close to your chest, it could knock you over because of the additional weight.

  4. Step 4

Lean back with the ball until you are laying flat on your back.

  5. Step 5

Extend your arms back over your head until the medicine ball touches the ground.

  6. Step 6

Sit back up to your starting position and toss the ball back to your partner. This completes one repetition of the medicine ball sit-up throw exercise.

  7. Step 7

Repeat for three sets of 20 repetitions to complete the exercise.

Tips & Warnings
  • Switch places with your partner between sets so that you can both get a good exercise workout.
