Step 1
Cast a circle. Before the ritual begins, cast a visual circle of positive energy. This circle is where your work will be done. The purpose is to draw only positive energy in while performing the ritual and at the same time, blocking any negative energy out until the work is complete.
-
Step 2
Call the quarters. Calling quarters is inviting the four elements to be invited but is not necessary. If you decide to call quarters, also decide on what you want their purpose to serve: protect, join in, guard and so on. If invited, light a candle reflecting the quarters' presence.
-
Step 3
Invite the Goddess or God. This is one of the most important parts of the ritual and is where you show your willingness to be open to the Goddess.
-
Step 4
Perform the ritual. This is where you take your time and speak to the Goddesses about your purpose for being there. Whether it's a ritual for the Full Moon, New Moon, Romance or Self-Healing, there are different ritual chants to be spoken at every event.
-
Step 5
Take an offering and have a simple feast. A Wiccan ritual is consecrated by having a small feast, usually cakes or baked goods and wine (or juice). Then a small offering is left for the Gods. This is a time of reflection and grounding yourself before exiting the circle.
-
Step 6
Thank the Gods or Goddesses that you've invited and any other Spirit that was invited to your ceremony. Thank everyone for attending and blow out the candles you lit for the quarters.
-
Step 7
Open the sacred circle. This is where you will release the energy that was stored during the ritual. To open the circle, do the opposite of what you did to create it. If you walked clockwise, walk counter-clockwise to open it back up.
