If you love going to the gym and staying fit but you've become bored by the same old routine, then you should try adding medicine ball exercises to your routine. They give you a simultaneous cardio and resistance workout. Here's how to perform the medicine ball thigh punch exercise.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Medicine ball
  • Partner to catch and return the medicine ball
  1. Step 1

Stand with your feet staggered facing your partner. It doesn't matter which foot you start with because you'll be switching later. Place one foot in front of the other and bend slightly at the knees with your hands out ready to receive the medicine ball.

  2. Step 2

Instruct your partner to toss you the medicine ball.

  3. Step 3

Catch the medicine ball with your outstretched hands.

  4. Step 4

Bring the top of your thigh up toward your outstretched hands.

  5. Step 5

Punch the ball with the top of your thigh. It is important to not "drop" the ball to the top of your thigh and punch it. Maintain your grasp on the medicine ball until the top of your thigh makes contact with it.

  6. Step 6

Repeat the exercise by having your partner again throw you the medicine ball. Do this for 3 sets of 20 repetitions. In between each set, switch legs and do this with the other one so you get a consistent workout with each leg.

Tips & Warnings
  • Create a routine of only medicine ball exercises and perform it once a week. It will keep you fresh in the gym.
  • Return the favor for your partner. Run them through the same set of medicine ball exercises after you're done. It will give you a breather while you work out as well as help you stay motivated, since you'll be working in conjunction with someone.
