Instructions

    • 1

Place a few eggs into a small container. Make sure the eggs aren't touching or aren't likely to move so they're touching.

    • 2

Pour white vinegar over the top of the eggs until they're completely covered.

    • 3

Put the eggs into a safe place, such as the refrigerator, for a day.

    • 4

Take the eggs out of the container. Be as careful as possible. The eggshells are starting to dissolve and the eggs are very fragile now.

    • 5

Dump out the vinegar and replace the eggs into the container. If your eggs are especially fragile, transfer the eggs into a new container and dump vinegar over the top of this. This takes away an extra transfer, decreasing the chance you'll break your eggs.

    • 6

Pour fresh vinegar back into the container to cover the eggs. Give the eggs another 24 hours in a safe place.

    • 7

Check the eggs and decide whether you'll need to add fresh vinegar and give the eggs another 24 hours. Some eggshells will need 3 days to dissolve completely, while others will dissolve after just 2 days.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try doing some experiments with your eggshell-less eggs.

  • You can try putting the eggs in vinegar for a week or two, eliminating the steps of changing the vinegar.
