When someone's told that they need glasses, one of the first things they may think about is how they will look with glasses. Don't despair. Glasses today don't have to make you look nerdy or bad. Instead, glasses can make you look smart, cool and stylish. Here's what you need to do so you'll look less nerdy in glasses.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Pick frames that fit your face. You will want to select the appropriate frame shape that flatters the shape of your face. The optician at the store where you purchase your glasses can help you select a frame that will look best on you.

  2. Step 2

Choose stylish frames for your glasses. Look in magazines to see pictures of people wearing glasses. This will give you an idea of what frame colors and designs are in style. You can also ask for advice from the optician at the store as you look for stylish frames.

  3. Step 3

Fix your glasses properly if they break. Few things look nerdier than taped up glasses. If your glasses break in any way, take them to an optician so a professional can fix them.

  4. Step 4

Consider purchasing more than one pair of glasses. If you purchase two pairs of glasses, you can try matching up the glasses to your outfits. You may choose to get a more conservative, wire-rimmed pair and a funkier, colorful pair. If you can match your glasses up to your clothes, the glasses can appear as more of a fashion accessory and much less nerdy.

  5. Step 5

Invest in prescription sunglasses. If you don't have prescription sunglasses, you may have to rely on clip-on sunglasses for sun protection. Clip-on sunglasses, however, can make you look extremely nerdy. Invest in a good pair of prescription sunglasses to avoid this problem all together. People won't even know that you wear prescription glasses, and you'll look great and be able to see well, to boot.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't select glasses that are too large for your face. Over-sized and ill-fitting glasses can make you look nerdy.
