There are many ways to help a worthy cause. When you have an affinity for a particular children's charity, you want to do everything in your power to see it succeed. If you don't have the money to make regular, large donations, don't despair. There are many other things you can do to help a children's charity thrive.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Research children's charities and find out everything you can about them. You must feel comfortable with a charity before you give your support.
Step2
Donate money as often as you can to support the charity. Donations are made for no reason, in memorial of someone's passing or in honor of someone. Memorials and honorariums are particularly wonderful if the charity was a favorite of the honoree, as well. Children's charities need more help than simply monetary donations, but these are an important part of the day-to-day workings of a charity.
Step3
Choose to have your donation to a larger entity designated to go to the children's charity of your choice. United Way donors often designate where their contributions go.
Step4
Get on the charity's newsletter mailing list to keep abreast of what they are involved in. Participate in the charity's fundraising events by attending concerts or other programs that support the charity. It is a great way to have a night of entertainment and help children at the same time.
Step5
Extol the virtues of your favorite children's charity. Become their unofficial spokesperson as you explain what they do for children.
Step6
Share the passion you feel with those who can do something to help, as well. Word of mouth advertising works with non-profit entities, as well as retail stores. Spread the word.
Step7
Volunteer at the charity of your choice, if you live in the same area. Charities need extra help in the form of volunteers for administrative tasks, driving, reading to children and helping around the building with maintenance.

Tips & Warnings

  • A charity must be clearly visible, even transparent, regarding its actions. If there is any doubt about a charity's workings, avoid that charity.
