Sweet orange is the perfect, light scent for adding to your body lotion as it not only energizes the mind and body, but also balances skin tone and promotes collagen production to maintain youthful skin. Additionally, orange improve lymphatic circulation and can help to clear the skin of blemishes. In just a few simple steps, you can create your own healing orange delight body lotion.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Place 1/2 tsp. of borax and 3/4 cups of water in a blender and pulse until smooth. Take extra care that there are no clumps of borax left in the water.

  2. Step 2

Measure 3 tbsp. of grated or pellet beeswax into the top of a double boiler and heat slowly until liquid. When melted, remove the wax from heat.

  3. Step 3

Place the lid on your blender and turn it to the lowest setting. Remove the small circular cap from the lid. Slowly and carefully pour in your melted beeswax. Again, slowly and carefully add 3/4 cup of grapeseed oil to the blender.

  4. Step 4

Allow your blender to run until your lotion takes on a thick consistency. When ready, add 10 drops of sweet orange essential oil and continue to blend for another minute or so.

  5. Step 5

Transfer your sweet orange delight body lotion to a dark glass container with a tight fitting lid. Use your lotion daily with no need to refrigerate your creation. If you use this homemade lotion occasionally as a skin treat, you can extend the shelf life by keeping it in your refrigerator. Remember to shake well before using.

Tips & Warnings
  • Never heat beeswax directly on the stove top or in the microwave, as it is flammable when in contact with direct heat.
