RSS feeds are fairly new to the Internet scene. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and Rich Site Summary. RSS allows a summary of a website's content to be broadcast and for others to include the information from the originating site in their websites. There are programs that allow a person to review changes and updates to a large number of sites at one time.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Download a copy of an XML editor to program the feed. The program written especially for creating an RSS feed is "FeedForAll." This program is extremely easy to use and will allow you to create edit and publish an RSS.

  2. Step 2

Locate an online feed creation tool by searching on the Internet. You will use this tool to turn the news into a feed on the Internet.

  3. Step 3

Create an XML file that defines the information that you want to publish. The file looks similar to an HTML file but the tags are different in XML. The information that's included in the file structure is the website name and URL. Also include a description of the site and an email address for comments or questions. Define in the file the channel that your RSS will publish to. See Resources for a sample of the syntax and coding for a feed.

  4. Step 4

Validate your feed with an RSS Validator program. Then submit your feed to Syndic8 to be included in a global directory of RSS feed sources.

Can you please add more details and make an article look "RSS Feeds for Idiots" type of instructions? LOL

Thanks so much!
