The foot hop is a way to dance on one foot while swinging the other. Typically, you start this step on one foot, then switch to the other. You can enhance this dance move by grabbing the toes of one foot, then jumping over the arm that holds the toes with your other foot.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Stand on your left foot and hop up and down.

  2. Step 2

Bend your right leg at the knee. Swing your right foot in front of your left leg and then behind without it touching the ground. Continue hopping on your left leg as you perform the swing with your right leg.

  3. Step 3

Increase the difficulty of this dance move by adding a jump to it. Stand on your left foot and hold your right toe in your left hand.

  4. Step 4

Hop up and over your left arm without letting go of your toe. Your left foot should now be in front of your left arm, rather than behind it as it was when you began.

  5. Step 5

Switch sides to perform the same dance moves using the other leg. Combine the moves while alternating hopping on both legs.

Tips & Warnings
  • Practice these movements in an open area without any obstacles in your way. Make sure you give yourself room to fall over.
