How to Use Bindis

Bindis, a red dot worn between the eyebrows, has become a popular fashion trend. You no longer have to be a married Indian woman to wear a bindi. Women, children and many popular performers who have embraced the Hindu culture wear Bindis. Follow these steps if you want to learn how to wear a bindi.

Instructions

    • 1

Choose a bindi that fits your face shape and personality. The bindi is no longer a simple red dot; you can find them in many different colors and shapes.

    • 2

Apply the bindi in between your eyebrows or in the center of your forehead. If you are wearing a bridal bindi it needs to go along your brow line.

    • 3

Reuse your bindi instead of throwing it away; they are too beautiful to waste. You can reapply your bindi by putting a small amount of nail glue on the back of it; allow the nail glue to dry for a few minutes before putting the bindi back on your skin.

    • 4

Try using glue specially designed for use with bindis if you are going to be doing an activity that will cause you to sweat. Sweating can cause your bindi to fall off and lead to embarrassing situations. Bindi glue holds better than nail glue and washes off easily with your regular face cleanser.

Tips & Warnings

  • The body bindi is also available. Body bindis look fabulous when applied to your lower back and arms. It's another way of enjoying the Hindu culture.
