If you're looking for a dance style that will really draw attention at a party, then learning to dance matrix style is right up your alley. Your friends won't see it coming and will be in awe as you have a mock fight with your partner in the middle of the dance floor. And when you dance matrix style, your friends may want in on the action, too.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Dress the part. An all-black leather ensemble complete with trench coat and slicked-back hair will set the scene nicely. If you don't want to give away your secret, stash the coat in a side room and whip it out before hitting the dance floor.
Step2
Grab a willing participant. Dancing Matrix style takes preparation, so you should find a dance party ahead of time and practice a little at home. You can also watch some old kung fu movies or the Matrix trilogy for inspiration.
Step3
Go slowly. Just play fighting with someone in the middle of the dance floor doesn't make it Matrix style. To pump up the "wow" factor, you have to do everything in slow motion. Throw punches and dodge kicks as slowly as possible, isolating every movement. For added effect, do back and side bends just like they do in the fight sequences of the movies.
Step4
Yell it out. If people are standing around scratching their heads at your slow-mo fighting moves, you can scream "Matrix!" to give them a hint. They should catch on quickly.
