Learn how to create and layout a magazine using Adobe Photoshop. Give your images a sheen and a glazed effect. With a moderate knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and a little effort, you can create a magazine with a professional look.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Create a new document with a canvas size about twice the size you want your cover image to be. Add a gradient background of any color.

  2. Step 2

Name a new layer "Cover" and paste your cover image in this layer. Click "Edit," "Transform" and "Perspective." Drag the top left corner down until you gain the proper perspective for the cover image.

  3. Step 3

Drag the Cover layer to the "New Layer" icon at the bottom of layers palette. This creates a copy of the Cover layer. Move the new layer behind the Cover layer and name it "Back."

  4. Step 4

Double click on the Back layer to bring up the layers style window. Apply a color overlay using a darker color similar to the Cover layer.

  5. Step 5

Click on "Edit," "Transform" and "Perspective" again. Drag the top right corner down until you gain the proper perspective.

  6. Step 6

Drag the Back layer to the "New Layer" icon to copy the layer. Name the new layer "Pages." Put this layer between the Cover layer and the Back layer.

  7. Step 7

Apply a white color overlay to the Pages layer by double clicking on the layer to open the layers style window. Apply a stroke style with a black color and 1 pixel for size. Move the opacity to 70 percent.

  8. Step 8

Move the layer down using the Move Tool. Copy the Pages layer again to give the magazine more pages. Move the copied layer back just a little.

  9. Step 9

Use the lasso tool to draw a marquee around the bottom corner of the pages if the Pages layers are poking out the bottom of the cover. Press "Delete."

  10. Step 10

Add the finishing touches. Adjust the background color until you're satisfied and consider adding a drop shadow. Use light and dark gradients to add light reflections.
