How to Get a Boy to Ask for Someone's Number

When you enter the dating years, some things can a bit difficult at first. Getting a boy to ask for your phone number is one of the trickiest. You have to get him to ask for it, without making it obvious that you want him to ask. If you're up for the challenge, try these steps.

1. Have something that he wants. Let's say the boy loves football and never misses a game. If you happen to have an autograph or football from his favorite player, he may be interested. Give him the details and tell him that he's welcome to come over and check it out. He'll ask for your phone number to let you know when he's coming over.

2. Suggest getting together to do something later. You don't have to be specific, just casually mention that you've been dying to check out the new restaurant that just opened or can't wait for the latest horror flick to come out.

3. Leave something behind that has your phone number in it. For example, forget your purse in the bleachers at a basketball game, or in the back seat of his friend's car. If he wants to see you again, all he has to do is look up your number and give you a ring to return the lost item.

4. Hit his car. OK, this isn't the smoothest way to get a boy to ask for your phone number, but it is almost fool-proof. A little fender-bender will have you exchanging information with him in no time. Don't forget to apologize profusely and let him know that if there's anything you can do to make it up to him, he should give you a call. You'll get either a date or a summons to appear in court.
