Put in your ID, money and credit cards. You never know where you might end up and you should prepare for every opportunity and emergency. These can all go into a wallet, which should also have a change purse.

Carry a brush or comb along with your makeup. This way you can put it all into one pocket or makeup bag. Be sure to have a nail file and buy travel size makeup so it all fits into the makeup bag.

Add a book so you have something to do whenever you have to wait. If you are shopping with another person, you may have time on your hands and there is no better way of waiting then reading.
