How to Install a TiddlyWiki Plugin

Tiddlywiki is a personal web notebook. It is used to create personal, self-contained hypertext documents, which can be posted to a web server. Some of its features include importing and synchronization with external files and servers, full text formatting and the ability to embed images.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch your browser and go to the official tiddlywiki website (see Resources below). Download the plug-in or macro that you want.

    • 2

Double-click the tiddler or source button. Press (Ctrl + A) to select the entire tiddler. Press (Ctr + C) to copy the selection to your clipboard.

    • 3

Open a new browser window and then open your TiddlyWiki file.

    • 4

Create a blank new tiddler by clicking on new tiddler. Press (Ctrl + V) to paste in the clipboard contents

    • 5

Choose an appropriate title. Add "systemConfig" tag and click "Done" when you are finished. Click on "Save Changes," which you will find to the right of the screen/window.

    • 6

Re-open Tiddlywiki in another browser. You should now be able to use Tiddlywiki. Ideally, you should keep your style sheet small. Keep in mind the tips below as well.

Tips & Warnings

  • As Tiddlywiki writes full version of itself using file names, it is advisable to have alternate backup methods in place.

  • You can take advantage of the keyboard shortcuts. Ctrl + Enter, for example, will help you switch out of the editing mode. You can also press "Esc" when searching and all the contents will be cleared immediately.
