How to Dress Punk at a Catholic School
Catholic schools are usually pretty strict when it comes to how you look. The plaid skirts and navy blue slacks with the usual white button down shirts can get very boring for many kids. Dressing punk at your Catholic school is one way to have some fun with your uniform.

1
Examine your Catholic school's dress code very carefully so you know how far you can push the limits. Pay specific attention to what you can do with your hair, what kind of jewelry you can wear and what deviations from your school uniform are allowed.
-
2
Dye your hair a natural color that doesn't look natural on you. For example if you are a natural blond with a light complexion then dye your hair jet black. Do the opposite if you're a brunette but in both cases stay away from prohibited colors such as blue or pink.
-
-
3
Wear your pants really high and throw on a pair of punk suspenders if you can. If you have some choices regarding what belt to wear, go for something large and studded.
-
4
Choose short sleeve shirts whenever possible and flip the collar of the shirt up. Underneath the shirt wear a punk band t-shirt and keep the top few buttons of the shirt open (if you can get away with it) or put on a white tank top.
-
5
Go for Doc Marten style boots for your footwear if it's allowed. If low shoes are required then find anything with a steel or lifted toe. Ladies should find shoes that have a platform and wear stockings that have a couple of tears around the knees or thighs.
-
6
Dress in dark colors whenever possible and add small punk accessories to your Catholic school uniform by sporting thick chain necklaces and stitching punk slogans onto your backpack that your teachers can't decipher.
