How to Draw Using Scantrons
Scantron is the optical recognition testing technology that many schools around the country use to administer tests. While teachers and administrators find Scantron useful for testing, some students have found that the multiple choice test sheet is better for drawing than testing.

1
Fill in some of the Scantron bubbles randomly and try to make each bubble roughly the same shade using a number 2 pencil. Make a simple shape such as a square or triangle so you can get some practice with drawing on your Scantron test sheet.
-
2
Move to a different section on the Scantron test. Think about what you want to draw, whether it's a stick figure, a face or any other figure. Whatever you choose, start simply. Work from the inside of your drawing outward by "bubbling in" the essential parts of the drawing.

3
Finish the figure of your drawing and then start shading by making some of the bubbles lighter than others. Start each bubble very lightly and then continue to darken it as needed. If you want to add a little bit more sophistication to your drawing then fill in some of the bubbles partially to add some effect.
-
4
Experiment with shapes and patterns since the layout of the Scantron testing sheet makes recursive and intricate patterns easier to draw than realistic figures.
-
5
Use your pencil's eraser to help out with shading and creating some streaks. Also, rub your finger along some of the filled in bubbles to create shading outside of the bubbles to add a level of realism to your drawing.
