You may have been in a crowd at some time or some place that made you uncomfortable and feel like you didn't belong. There are times at night that it is better to blend in with the dark than to have strangers see you alone, like if you are a woman in a dangerous place.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Dark clothing
Step1
Select the area you want to walk in at night and dress accordingly. If there isn't going to be traffic, then you can dress as dark as you like.
Step2
Purchase special clothing that is comfortable. Don't choose clothing with logos that may reflect in the dark.
Step3
Shun populated areas—the point is to blend in with the dark. Crowds of people most often congregate in lighted areas.
Step4
Subdue your pace while you walk. In order to blend in with the dark, you don't want to draw any attention to yourself.
Step5
Utilize the shadows as you walk. Even on the darkest night, there are shadows.
Step6
Yield whenever necessary to animals and people. Do your best to blend in and not get close enough to anyone to make eye contact.
Step7
Relax as you attempt to blend in to the dark. Any brisk moves will draw attention to you.

Tips & Warnings

  • Stay away from traffic if you want to blend into the dark.
  • Wearing dark colors can put you at risk of getting hit by a car when walking at night.
