Step 1
Kill things by using damage. While the base damage is random, you can change your damage bonus. The formula is: Damage bonus = stat/2, where "stat" is equal to the value of strength (melee), intelligence (magic) or dexterity (range). This bonus has a maximum of 0.2* ceiling of damage for the weapon.
-
Step 2
Kick butt with little help from your friends, especially the Baby Dragon. Next to his full-grown self, he's not much, but once he's fully trained, he can get in about 200 points of damage during special attacks. It helps to know that even your level changes the damage your little buddy can do. Here's the formula: Baby Dragon Avg Damage = [SquareRoot(Your Level)]*2.5.
-
Step 3
Know how far to push certain stats before concentrating on less immediate benefits. Sure, maxing out your damage stat sounds great, but those extra points you could've used for a better character are wasting potential. Check out this formula to know what's unnecessary: Maximum damage = ceiling of damage for weapon + damage bonus.

Step 1
Acquire a source of funds to cover cost of a Dragon Amulet, which gives you access to exclusive areas of DragonFable. It's a more than the change you'll find in your couch, you may have to work for it, but you can quit after getting your Dragon Amulet.
-
Step 2
Order your Dragon Amulet from the DragonFable home page, on the sidebar under "Purchase Dragon Amulet." You'll need an account to sign in. Then you can pay online or send your payment via postal mail.
-
Step 3
Receive confirmation that you have a dragon amulet. If you use an online method, you should get immediate confirmation. With other methods, you may have to wait until payment has been processed.
-
Step 1
Turn your attention to those pets that do damage types that a dragon can't do. Poison, silver and other "non-elemental" damage types can boost your damage against those foes that can be hurt almost exclusively by those damage types.
-
Step 2
Choose accessories for pragmatism instead of style. You should look carefully at headwear, belts, rings, necklaces and capes and compare them with what you already have.
-
Step 3
Acquire weapons of every damage type with a focus on being able to damage efficiently. Fire and ice weapons are easy to come by and allow you to damage almost any opponent. When you get a weapon, compare its damage code and bonuses to the weapon of its damage type that you already possess. The greater one should be the keeper.
-
Step 1
Locate the ranking boards under the DragonFable game on the main boards. The description of the boards include "ranking."
-
Step 2
Read the posts made by the rankers. Since there are different groups of rankers, each with its own biased as to what makes a "good" character, don't be surprised to see conflicting results. The most important aspect is overall greatness.
-
Step 3
Listen to the advice and compare what they say with your own opinion of what makes a good character. If they coincide, make the changes they suggest. If not, you may ignore them. You should also check the encyclopedia or in-game description of items before buying any items recommended on the board.
