Becoming a better basketball shooter is an easy way to improve your entire game. With a little hard work and dedication, you will become the best basketball shooter on your team. Whether it's jump shots, free throws or three-pointers, the following steps will help you become a better shooter.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide what shot you need to improve the most. This can include three-pointers, jump shots, set shots and free throws. Concentrate on the one you need the most help with but do not forget about the shots you are already very good at.

  2. Step 2

Find shooting drills. Some good drills can be found on the Shooting Drills website, or by asking your basketball coach. Make a checklist of these drills so that you can easily follow them.

  3. Step 3

Practice. The only way to improve your shooting and techniques is to practice for at least a couple of hours on a daily basis. Make each shot you are practicing at least 100 times before moving on to another drill. Repetition is a great teacher for your mind and a perfect way to develop muscle memory as well.

  4. Step 4

Choose a shooting technique that is comfortable and productive for you. Use this same technique with each shot you take, and try not to waiver from this.

  5. Step 5

Try your new shooting technique in a game and see how much difference it makes for you and your team. Continue your practice schedule. You can never have too much shooting practice.
