Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Find a Doom ".wad" file online so that you can play Doom on your iPhone. You can use either a purchased file or shareware file, as long as the file is titled, "doom1.wad."

  2. Step 2

Load your doom1.wad file into "/var/root/Media/Doom."

  3. Step 3

Run the program. If the file does not load, you may have a problem with the file--an issue that is present more with the shareware files. Attempt to run the .wad file for playing Doom on your iPhone from the shell. Look for printf()s.

  4. Step 4

Install Doom directly onto your iPhone by downloading an initial version of Doom by stepwhite. The file is 195 KB.

  5. Step 5

Use the touch screen for the controller. Sound will soon come, as well as controllers that are more sophisticated.

  6. Step 6

Get another version of Doom for your iPhone by going to Safari, and go to sources. In sources on your iPhone, type: http://marcogiorgini.com/iPhone/plist.xm.

  7. Step 7

Click OK. After the program loads into your iPhone, go to the menu to the "M," and find Marcogiorgini.com.

  8. Step 8

Look for the file that includes 3D games, and select it. You will be given two more choices, so choose Yeti 3D, and click "Install."

  9. Step 9

Choose which mode you would like, either landscape or portrait, and start shooting the monsters as you play Doom on your iPhone.
