Step 1
Know that an apochromat camera lens corrects chromatic aberration--when colors appear around the fringe of the subjects in a picture. Use an apochromat camera lens to capture the detail of stationary subjects.
-
Step 2
Consider film size when you use an apochromat camera lens. Because the lens offers a small coverage area, use a larger film size than is required to compensate.
-
Step 3
Test an apochromat camera lens. The print made using the lens should offer optimal definition from one edge of the print to the other. If the subjects aren't properly defined or if chromatic aberrations are present, the apochromatic lens is defective.
-
Step 4
Attach the apochromat lens to your camera carefully and set the aperture dial to the appropriate focal distance and diameter (aperture is refers to the hole of the lens and how much it opens to expose light. An apochromat camera lens generally requires a small aperture or opening to allow less light.) Position the camera lens within inches of the subject to ensure the best results.
