How to Get Support Online after a Breakup

Get Support Online after a Breakup
Get Support Online after a Breakup

The end of a romantic relationship is difficult, and it takes its toll on your heart and mental health. Although time itself is said to heal you, venting and talking about your breakup is also important. You need to filter through what went wrong, or just gripe about what a jerk your date was, but your friends and family can only hear so much. Perhaps going online is your next step. Want to vent and get some good advice from neutral sources? Get your breakup support online.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start with the pros and check out Dr. Phil's homepage. This website offers a great variety of relationship advice, and more importantly, a message board for you to connect with others interested in your topic. Once you arrive at the home page, go to "Dr. Phil's Advice" and then the "Relationship/Sex" area. Here you'll find a lot of interesting articles about relationships, but also a link to the message board. Register and get talking.

  2. Step 2

Go to DontDateHimGirl.com and warn others. This somewhat controversial web site offers a lot of advice and articles on empowerment, but also a place where you can talk to others in your situation. Check out their community area and post away.

  3. Step 3

Vent and write out your inner feelings. Consider a personal blog. There are plenty of free blog services available where you can channel your angst in a personal log of your journey from hurt to healed. Do a search for "free blog sites" and select one that will work the best for you. Pour your heart out and maybe connect with others who share your misery.

  4. Step 4

Check out HeartBrokenAnonymous.org for a multitude of uplifting articles and support from other hearts on the mend. Join the site and you'll get plenty of good vibes from their articles and members. This is a great place to find your footing and get yourself back on track.

Tips & Warnings
  • Take the high road and don't identify your ex online. Once you are past your anger and hurt you may regret bad mouthing them in their community. Show your class by keeping it anonymous.
