The Green Party started out with the goal of helping the world improve the environment by reducing nuclear-based energy. Today, the Green party still promotes a healthy environment, with each individual doing his part to reduce Greenhouse gas emissions, recycle re-usable products and create renewable energy sources. Another objective of the Green Party is shaping culture to fit into the 10 expressed values of the party. People can join Green Party support groups to help further the ideals of the party and find new people who agree with the party's philosophies.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Contact the Green Party leaders in your state to find local support groups for you to join. Simply click your state on the map at the official Green Party website on the "States" page (see Resources below). In line with the grassroots focus of the Green Party, all party affiliations, associations and support groups are formed on a local level.

  2. Step 2

Visit several different support groups in your area if more than one exists. You may find you click more with one group over another. Although the Green Party adheres to common values, various groups may have slightly different ideas within the framework of the Green Party.

  3. Step 3

Visit Green Party support groups when you travel in different countries around the world. To date, the Green Party has groups in Africa, the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe. You can even participate in the Global Greens Congress that takes place in a major city each year.

  4. Step 4

Participate in your local Green Party support group by promoting and providing public forums for local artists to show off their talents. Partner with local artists through public performances, exhibitions, murals on town buildings, design of public areas, poetry readings and storytelling.

  5. Step 5

Discuss various methods of promoting the Green Party principles in your locale during support group meetings. Organize ways to confront any type of racism or gender inequality in your area. A support group may also work on developing new ways for the local citizens to help government officials make important decisions.

  6. Step 6

Join in various discussions on a Green Party blog hosted by more than a dozen different groups in the U.S. A list of blogs can be found on the official Green Party website (see Resources below).
